Horray, horray it's that day again. Our electricity has now officially

Today30 Mar 2009 18:48 GMT11
I decided to sew something fun for me!  But while spending a
goodly amount of time straightening and tidying the sewing
room, I came across a navy flannel king-size top sheet DD
asked me to repair a couple of weeks ago.  The hem had come

Husqvarna series 20 machines. Hard to find.
Anyone know of any others? The Grasshopper uses a gear to slip in the

As several of you know, I have grandbabies in both California and the
U.K.  It really is time for me to set up some type of system whereby
they can SEE me as well as talking to me.
I have broadband, and a Micro-cam which the son of a friend pushed me
What should I make28 Mar 2009 04:59 GMT1
I received a lot of upholstery grade fabric samples made by Malden
Mills from a very generous lady.  The fabrics are mostly velvet.  Now
I need ideas on what to make.  The samples are either 2ft or 1ft
squares, and there are probably 100 of them!  First off, I'm going to

Hey All,
DMIL took her Bernina 830 to the shop in December.  It was not winding

Reader's Digest Complete Guide to Sewing27 Mar 2009 04:28 GMT13
I know, this has been through a million times here, but I have to ask again:
Up to which publishing date is the above-mentioned book the valuable guide
to tailoring, including all kinds of hand-sewing techniques? I remember this
being discussed in here. I've got the book in ...
The morning post...26 Mar 2009 19:31 GMT7
We have a doorbell...
Those who have visited us will know it sounds rather like an old
fashioned fire bell.  It is LOUD!  The reason is that when we are out
the back, with washer and dryer grinding their teeth, we want to hear it.
Skating Costumes Fit25 Mar 2009 19:15 GMT2
After the practice last night, I had the girls try on their costumes
without the skirts.  They all fit!  Since the fabric doesn't have all
that much stretch and I had to measure most of them on a cold day at the
semi-enclosed rink when they were wearing snow suits, I was a bit ...

I have a White serger that is over 15 years old that is not working very
well lately so am in the market for a new serger.  We were led to believe
that White was an Elna serger at the time we purchased.  We since found
out that is not the case.  I have had an Elna regular sewing ...
