Picking Flowers for Mead/Wine Flavor11 Jun 2009 13:53 GMT8
I've made a few batches of rose flavored mead over the years by adding
petals to the batch and plan on another batch this year. Does anyone
have opinions about the best time of day to pick the roses? I know,
the stock answer is "while ye may", but does time make any difference?

We first heard about Colony Collapse Disorder in 2006, now in early
2009 we have data from the USDA on honeybee population, production,
and yield spanning 2006, 2007, & 2008. The number of producing
colonies in the US was stable through 2007 (we even saw a slight

I've decided to, maybe, add some sort of fining agent to my cranberry
mead this time around. Normally I don't mind the sediment but thought
I'd try to clear it up a bit this time with gift bottles in mind.
Anyway, after reading up on several methods I decided to use the
Commercial Mead on the East Coast01 Jun 2009 19:40 GMT4
Is anyone aware of quality commercial Mead on the east coast?
It's a felony to have alcohol shipped to a residence in Maryland.
I know Rabbit's Foot is sold in Pennsylvannia.  Just don't go
up there often enough.
