Had 50 lbs of Laguna cone 5 freeze on me.  When it thawed there is excess
moisture in the bags.  like I could pour it out.  Need help/answers.  Where

Firing Onglaze.21 Feb 2007 22:50 GMT14
I have more or less all the info I need about mixing and applying onglaze
but little knowledge of the firing process.  Oddly enough the books I have
on 'painting techniques' fail to give details of the firing and for how long
etc.  They seem to assume one would automatically know ...

Hi, I am fairly new to pottery and wanted to start some handbuilding
at home to compliment a wheel class I am taking once a week.  I wanted
to build a table for wedging, slab building etc.  I have a bunch of 2'
x 6" pieces of composite decking left from resurfacing our deck and

I know we are all suffering dry cracked hands  I wear rubber gloves for
almost everything but  throwing, but with my own work and teaching two
classes my hands are still a wreck.
I use Jason pure Shea Butter.  What does everybody else use?
Ceramic Glazes needed - I will pay good money!!!!!!!!11 Feb 2007 18:50 GMT5
I am an artist, desperate for some discontinued glazes.
I am willing to pay well for any of the following you may have. I
normally work with 4 oz jars but would be happy with the
equivalent amount in pints, gallons, whatever. I will make it

Question about Fluorescent Glazes08 Feb 2007 05:57 GMT3
I know that a lot of ceramic glazes can hold their color for millenia,
but how do fluorescent glazes hold up in sunlight?  The only time I saw
some in a store, the staff didn't know much about them.
refiring old pots05 Feb 2007 07:49 GMT4
I have just bought an old chamber pot made by Royal Doulton for not a
lot of money.  I'd love to use it as a planter, but the glaze has
crazed, but not too badly  I'm thinking that it's cast earthenware, with
a plain white glaze and no decorations of any kind..  What would happen ...
is it possible to separate?04 Feb 2007 18:30 GMT3
My wife took a pottery class.  The instructor  did all the glazing
until the last class.  Where-in she had the students do the glazing.
In my wife's case apparently to much glaze was applied.  So the
instructor made a circle out of ceramic clay (like a coaster)  and put
Olympic Kiln relay failure problems02 Feb 2007 00:15 GMT1
I have an Olympic Kiln model 2723E (electric) that is about three years old. It
has been through about 100 or so firing cycles and yesterday suddenly two of the
three electric relays failed.  Has anyone else ever encountered relay failures
like this? It seems like the relays should ...
