SCAM using Paypal accounts!!28 Feb 2010 23:28 GMT16
Received this.  Must be a scam because it came to an email address not
associated with Paypal, and there were crazy misspellings, such as
"PayPaI".
CAREFUL with the Phishing stuff!
Emulating Scrub Plane28 Feb 2010 22:17 GMT3
When I was at the WoodWorking Show, someone from LN/V showed me how
to emulate a scrub plane.  He was using a Low-angled plane with a blade that
appeared to be ground with a lot of camber.  Now I'm asking myself whether
it would be
Shooting board question28 Feb 2010 21:14 GMT2
I admit it, I'm much more normite than neander...
Anyway, I don't have a shooting board but can see where it would be
useful from time to time.  But one thing I've never understood just by
reading about them: why doesn't the plane blade chew into the raised
wood permanently under water28 Feb 2010 20:57 GMT41
I want to make a tray to contain a thin layer gravel that will lift out of
an acquarium.
I thought I would use a plastic box lid cut down to size and with square
section strips of wood screwed to each of the edges to form a lip to keep

Hank Gilpin28 Feb 2010 16:31 GMT3
Fine woodworking has a video of Hank Gilpin.  I don't have his tools or
his skill or workspace, but if I were to ever grow up, I'd like to be
just like him.  He may be my first, and only woodworking hero.

$6 shipping and lift or gate fees for powermatic and jet tools.  It

Has anyone had any experience, good or bad?

few months ago)

97524 Harbor Freight 2-in-1 18ga nailer / stapler28 Feb 2010 01:15 GMT14
Any opinions about this gun?
I have a PC 18ga 2" brad nailer and 15ga finish nailer.  Both
excellent.
This HF gun was 17.99, and the stapler seemed like it might come in
mounting a floating shelf27 Feb 2010 22:10 GMT12
I've done a lot of 3 inch thick shelves whre I could fabricate a cleat
screwed into studs and slip the shelf over the cleat. Now the shelf is
a 7/8 inch thick 5 foot slab of Sapele.. maybe 5 inches deep. Can I
make a cleat or does somebody make one I can use for this
Hitachi C10 FSH compoun miter saw burning26 Feb 2010 22:08 GMT4
I have an Hitachi C10 FSH compound miter saw that has worked
beauitifully for me for a couple of years.  Recently I allowed someone
else to use it and it is now out of whack.  It burns almost every cut.
I am running a very sharp Forrest Woodmaster on it but to be certain
How to repair a mistake in a cabinet door panel26 Feb 2010 15:25 GMT15
I'm a novice at building raised panel doors and just when I thought
everything was going well when I was cutting the cove in panel, I managed to
take about a one inch chunk out of it.  Right where the inner part of the
cove meets.  Is there anyway to fix this without starting ...
Removing odor26 Feb 2010 08:49 GMT29
I've built a pantry for my wife and the only finish I used on the interior
(red oak plywood) was clear Watco.  It looked great, but the odor makes it
unusable -- packaged goods absorb the smell.  After two months, applied a
coat of wipe on polyurethane, but that has not helped.  ...
